What makes it feel a bit warmer than this similar situation in January, it has to do with the sun’s angle.

Saturday: Cloudy with a 90% chance for rain/snow and a high near 40 degrees. It’ll be colder with highs only in the upper 30s.

Another weak disturbance will bring more chances of showers late this afternoon through the early overnight, primarily from the Little Belt Mountains north and east across the grasslands of north-central MT. Even more than 5 inches is possible in southern Virginia.

Some of the wet weather could transition to snow overnight and early Sunday morning, as temperatures drop, but Maze said it’s likely that only the northern counties will see significant impact.

Temps on Saturday and Sunday will remain above freezing between Boston and Worcester, with highs in the upper 30’s. The clouds linger into Sunday creating partly sunny skies with an isolated chance of a rain/snow mix along with breezy conditions.

We’ll have a couple of calm days Tuesday and Wednesday before our next storm system arrives. It will be another warm day with highs in the 50s and 60s for the higher terrain and 70s and 80s for the Southeastern Plains. Temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s if you have plans to head to the high country.

The quieter stretch in weather continues for Friday.

Rain chances will stay in the 10% range or less Sunday into Monday, and near 20% Tuesday as moisture ahead of a frontal trough begins to increase across the area.

Today: Snow showers through the afternoon and evening, higher amounts south and east of Cincinnati.
