Praise for Olive Garden Server’s Act of Kindness

Little Rock mom Dallas French wrote on the Olive Garden Facebook page earlier this week that she, her husband, and their daughter, Ellee, stopped for dinner on their way home from some medical testing.

A mother named Dallas French brought her baby, who had just tested positive for E. Coli, to Olive Garden. “It touched my heart”.

The Olive Garden server propped the child’s bottle in place while French enjoyed a much-deserved meal. The bottle spilled on French and the floor as their waiter brought out their food.

French snapped a picture of the sweet waiter feeding her daughter, which she shared along with her post. Samantha Smart, who commented her daughter has had more than 20 surgeries at the hospital, said she’s had great experiences at the restaurant.

The family was able to eat their appetizers in relative peace.

“And that milk on the floor got cleaned up after we left because he just understood”.

In just two days, the mom’s post received over 155,000 likes. However, what the waiter did next left French and her entire family speechless. Her Facebook post about how her waiter’s love and understanding came at just the right time has gone viral, getting this good deed the attention it deserves. “[He was] not irritated that I had made a mess and my baby was screaming”, said French.

“Here let me feed her while you eat”, the server, identified as Robert Davis by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, told the worn-out mother. This melted all of us and this is what we need more of!

Ellee was diagnosed with stage 1 hydronephrosis, which involves the swelling of one of her kidneys and her ureter, the tube that connects her kidney and her bladder. “I just wanted him to know that we appreciated everything he did that day”. French said Ellee will be under a doctor’s observation, and the family is hopeful she outgrows the condition.
