Frank Ocean has cancelled his forthcoming headline slot at Los Angeles’ FYF Fest, and has been replaced, rather impressively, by Kanye West.
“Frank Ocean has decided on his own terms to cancel his appearance”, a press release stated.
This will be West’s first appearance at FYF and first L.A. area performance since headlining KIIS-FM’s Wango Tango festival in May of this year.
Ocean is rumored to be in the final stages of preparing the release of his next album, Boys Don’t Cry, the long-awaited follow-up to 2012’s Channel Orange.
Ocean’s publicist released a statement early Friday morning regarding the cancellation of the Los Angeles music festival.
The announcement was made via Twitter on Thursday, confirming that West would play on Saturday night.
Other notable acts include Jesus & Mary Chain, Belle & Sebastian, fka Twigs, Bloc Party, Run The Jewels, Mac DeMarco, The Purity Ring, Savages, Solange, Toro y Moi, METZ, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
