Prank or real life? Creepy cloaked figure haunts US playgrounds
A cloaked figure has apparently been dropping raw meat on North Carolina playgrounds, in what some suspect is an attempt to poison dogs. Photos of a cloaked figured reportedly leaving raw meat near a Gastonia playground went viral online and police say they looked into the case.

It is impossible to determine from the surfacing photos of the cloaked figure is a man or a woman. But the Gaston Gazette reported that nobody knows much about the photo and even authorities and property owners are scratching their heads. There is a playground near the wooded parts of the apartment complex reports WBTV, but Lahser says officers could not confirm that the photo actually came from that apartment complex.
‘I see why it could be easy to make a joke out of it, but this is serious.
Photos of the terrifying person have been circulating on social media for the past month, with the local paper reporting that the figure has been seen dropping meat as well as standing around in a sinister fashion.
One Facebook user posted: “I’ve heard (probably urban myth) of people dropping poisoned meat around for dogs to gobble up”.
Police, however, haven’t connected the bags of meat with the cloaked figure.
“We don’t know if this is some bogus prank somebody is playing”, a Gastonia Police Department spokeswoman told The Gazette.
