“This is the biggest betrayal of the anti-corruption movement”, he added.

“Kejriwal will table the bill on Monday, pass it and send it to the Centre”.

“I am willing to have a public debate with both @_YogendraYadavj ji & @pbhushan1 ji on Jan Lokpal Bill, 2015”. Saw shockingly dishonest Delhi Lokpal bill: Appointment & removal by Delhi Government; No investigating agency under it; Empowered to investigate Government Of India as well; created to fail!

After the meeting, Hazare told reporters that he would step in if the central government puts obstructions in the way of the Jan Lokpal Bill introduced in the Delhi assembly.

There are other serious and equally, if not more, contentious issues in the Bill.

This clause will never be approved by the central government and the bill will never get passed, he said.

Releasing a comparative study of the several Lokpal Bills and Acts, including the Delhi Janlokpal Bill 2014, Uttarakhand Lokayukta Bill, Centre’s Lokpal Act and Team Anna’s Janlokpal draft, Bhushan said the Bill cleared by the current Delhi Cabinet was the “worst” of all. In such a scenario of lack of mutual trust, this debatable Bill too will face hurdles and AAP could use it to score political points. “However, our Lokpal will keep a watch on every corruption case in Delhi”, he said.

New: To oust the Lokpal, a two-thirds majority in the Delhi assembly, of the members present and voting against the Lokpal, is sufficient according to section 6(1) of the proposed bill.

Vishwas said his government neither meant to keep anyone under its thumb through the Lokpal nor did it believe in a confrontationist attitude while dealing with the Union government.

“Why did Arvind keep on tweeting that he is drafting the Bill?”

Khetan said why did Bhushan and Yadav not protest outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s house for failing to select a Lokpal. “Also, the Lokpal should be removed only after a High Court judge has looked into the charges against him”, he said.

The AAP is an offshoot of the anti-graft movement in 2011 launched by social activist Anna Hazare who had demanded an ombudsman through the Jan Lokpal bill.
