So, Heard gets the nod before the Rice game but wasn’t impressive against a weak Owl squad.
For Texas at home, they are going to need Heard to continue to look dynamic at the quarterback position. Why Texas Will Win Oklahoma State’s offense isn’t as good as Notre Dame’s, Rice’s or Cal’s. The Florida product only has six catches this year, but he’s totaled 183 receiving yards already, an average of more than 30 yards per catch. First thing’s first, though.

BON: Texas has certainly shown a propensity to get blown out at unexpected times during Strong’s tenure, but I think this plays out as a close, hard-fought game that features some big plays from both teams. Plus, you could argue this Texas fan base needs it. Strong, his staff and new interim AD Mike Perrin are getting exhausted of seeing 10,000-plus empty seats at DKR. For a young team led by a young quarterback, making a statement in this game would be a big step in the right direction.
