Pregnant Eden Prairie mother murdered amid domestic abuse case

He is being held on suspicion of stabbing his 23-year-old wife in Eden Prairie.

Lyuba Savenok died shortly after police were called to a domestic-disturbance call at their two-story house, the paper reports. After being taken to the hospital and pronounced dead, an emergency C-section was performed in an attempt to save the baby, but the premature infant died minutes after birth, prosecutors said.

She told police that Yeveginy Savenok had placed the couple’s two young children in a auto outside the home shortly before the assault took place.

Police say a short time later, Savenok arrived at United Hospital in St. Paul with the children and told a security guard he just killed his wife.

On several occasions, Lyuba Savenok called police and reported being attacked by her husband, who has charges pending against him in connection to an assault last August.

Wrote brother Aleksandr: ‘We wish to honor Lyuba and her son and bury them in a attractive place where they may be visited by friends and family.

Yevgeniy Savenok has displayed a history of abuse, according to court records, and an order for protection had been issued against him.

Savenok was born in Valga, Estonia, in 1993, but had spent most of her life in Eden Prairie and Chaska, according to the Tribune.

The couple had been married almost six years. “We do have previous calls to that residence for domestic assault cases”, he said, adding that the accused had been arrested in the past for domestic assault and was scheduled to go on trial later this year.

After he had been read his Miranda rights, investigators say Yevgeniy Savenok admitted stabbing his wife at least seven times in her torso and upper chest.
