The woman, named as Parasha Beard, who was eight months pregnant, was in the vehicle with another man while it was parked on 87th Street and Marquette Avenue in Chicago’s South Side.

The 19-year-old woman, identified by CPD sources as Parasha Beard, was shot in the neck, and the 26-year-old man in the neck and chest.
The two were sitting in a parked auto at 6:10 p.m.in the 8700 block of South Marquette Avenue when another vehicle pulled up alongside and and a shooter began firing, said Officer Kevin Quaid, a Chicago Police spokesman.
Both victims were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where Beard was pronounced dead.
Also Sunday morning, a 61-year-old man shot and wounded a 16-year-old boy who had broken into his home in the 6600 block of South Rhodes Avenue, police said.

The man was in critical condition. Beard was due to give birth in December. Beard also has a 4-year-old daughter.

“She was a loving child”, Beard’s aunt, Sandy Jones, told NBC 5. Police say they have only a vague description of the gunman.
