Pregnant woman clings to ledge, pulled to safety during Paris attacks

The pregnant woman dangles from the Bataclan concert hall window sill. Sometimes there are evacuations of the building, but this time people were running everywhere. Those in Paris were able to capture how the terrorists caused mayhem inside the Bataclan Theatre, how the police tried to fend the terrorists in Republique Square, and how thousands of people panicked inside the stadium and along the roads.

According to witnesses, multiple gunman shouting “Allahu Akbar”, or “God is great” in Arabic, stormed the Bataclan during a performance of the band Eagles of Death Metal.

Several can be seen stumbling, collapsing on the floor outside, struck by bullets as they fled. An ABC News feature on the pregnant woman can be seen above with a few graphic imagery.

After helping the pregnant woman back inside and obeying orders to lie face down with around 15 others, Sebastian said he could hear the killers shooting from the balcony.

The below video was filmed by Daniel Psenny, a journalist with the Paris-centric publication Le Monde.

Elite police commandos launched a dramatic assault on the venue – one of six locations targeted in “unprecedented” violence. The three terrorists died when they detonated suicide belts.

She is later seen being helped up through the window to safety. More than 200 people were injured, dozens critically. A few of them had reportedly survived by hiding in the upper tiers of the venue.

ISIS has since claimed responsibility for the attack, which has so far left more than 120 dead. The drummer Julian Orio’s wife, Emily, told the Washington Post she spoke to her husband briefly after the attack.

A woman trapped inside the Bataclan told Buzzfeed France that she thought it was a few sort of joke when the terrorists began shooting.

“There was something just before the gunshots: I heard two noises that sounded like a few kind of crack, or a bang…”

The near-simultaneous attacks in Paris that killed at least 128 people were an “act of war” carried out by the Islamic State (IS) militant group, French President Francois Hollande says.
