Watford boss Walter Mazzarri was pleased with the result but not the performance in his team’s 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough on Sunday afternoon. They’re in 16th and including a Capital One cup match at Fulham, are now winless in six matches.

Let’s be honest, the prospect of Middlesbrough hosting Watford won’t have excited many neutrals to the point where they struggled to sleep on Saturday night.

Though the Greece worldwide was the match-winner, Success took man-of-the-match honours at the Riverside, drawing a string of fouls from Barragan, who somehow avoided a second yellow card from referee Roger East before Aitor Karanka hooked him in the second half.

“When they scored it was impossible to play”.

“I think he’s adapting very well to English football”, he said.

Boro are still looking for their first home win of the campaign, having taken just one point from their last four outings after opening the season with five points from seven. “The proof is that immediately after the game we sent the e-mail to the Nigerian federation and spoke with them on the phone confirming he had an injury”.

“I’m happy with him [Success], even though he played much better when he came on as a substitute in the other games”.

Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka: “We’ve had an worldwide break but in our last game at West Ham we played with the right organisation and attitude. I corrected some of the things at half-time and we didn’t allow them anything else for the second half”. Boro defender Ben Gibson tried his luck with a 35-yard shot but the match was still goalless come halftime.

“I have my thoughts, but I can’t say them”.

Holebas smashed the ball into the top corner after intercepting a Middlesbrough pass.

The way Watford play, it’s all about creating chances for the front two rather than sharing the goals around.

Back inside his own penalty area to defend a Watford free-kick, he got to Holebas’ cross first and powered a header just over the angle of bar and post in his efforts to clear the danger.
