Chelsea has had a tough time getting things going this season, but the team won over Arsenal on Saturday 2-0 and that could give the Blues some momentum. One of the other results on Saturday included Man City losing and allowing goals for the first time this season with a 2-1 defeat against West Ham. Watford won over Newcastle, while Stoke City and Leicester City played to a draw,

Swansea City and Everton played to a scoreless draw, while West Brom won over Aston Villa. Bournemouth won over Sunderland 2-0 and the Sunday schedule has Tottenham taking on Crystal Palace in the early match. The rest of the schedule on Sunday has Southampton playing against Man United, while Norwich City plays against Liverpool.

Man City is leading the EPL table with five wins and one loss with 15 points, while West Ham and Leicester City are second and third with 12 points. Manchester City comes in with 10 points and are in the top four, while Arsenal also has 10 points and are ahead of Everton in the standings. Crystal Palace, Swansea City, Watford and West Brom are next on the table ahead of Bournemouth, Norwich City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Southampton.

These two sides have enjoyed successful starts to the season with hosts Leicester still unbeaten in all competitions this season.

The performances by Hazard in the last two games certainly will provide better reading for Chelsea fans, he might not have been the best player on the pitch but he certainly got the job done and that could be the first step in ensuring that Hazard and Chelsea get back to their best.

Chelsea’s 4-1 win over Walsall ensured that the club were in the news for all the right reasons following a tumultuous few days that has seen Diego Costa banned for three games and club doctor Eva Carneiro threatening legal action.

Ryan Mason remains sidelined with a knee problem while Alex Pritchard, Nabil Bentaleb and Mousa Dembele have ankle injuries and also miss out.

Ronald Koeman on Gaston Ramirez: “He is part of the team, he is training well, his behaviour is positive”. Everton have kept three consecutive clean sheets away from home in the league for the first time since December 2013… Then you know it is hard.

And is the situation of keeping the disaffected De Gea in the stands with the apparent expectation of restoring him once the window is closed without any hangover from the speculation realistic or sustainable? Milton Keynes have been unable to repeat the heroics of last season when they knocked out Manchester United, after being hit for six by Southampton at Stadium MK.

Christian Benteke has added physical and aerial presence to attack, while James Milner’s solid presence has bolstered midfield.

And there may be more good things to come if striker Daniel Sturridge can actually get himself fit.

Ever since departing Celtic for Southampton, defender Virgil van Dijk has fitted in seamlessly in the centre of the Saints defence, and although he was part of a backline who conceded three times against Manchester United, he was not at fault for any of the goals. The last time was in 2013 – and they finished second that season.
