Premier League titans roar in boardroom, squeak on pitch
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed the Gunners are “open-minded” to make an early signing during the January transfer window after admitting he is “short” of options due the number of injuries in the squad.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, ahead of Monday night’s showdown against Manchester City, Wenger said: “Well, we play against the best team in Europe [in the shape of Barcelona]”. ‘We have a chance to knock them out.
And Wenger believes their spectacular run is good for world football.
“We must be inspired by the result we got at home against Bayern, who are the same type of team”.
After seemingly losing his starting spot as Arsenal’s number one forward to Theo Walcott at the very start of the season; Olivier Giroud has proved any doubters wrong this season to fire on all cylinders and spearhead the Gunners’ Premier League title bid.
Wenger also said previous defeats by Barcelona – in 2010 and 2011 – will spur him on to victory over the European champions.
“We are more mature now”. We played against Barcelona with top teams but inexperienced and they were in full power.
“It will be a very tight game because if you look at the numbers since the start of the season, offensively and defensively the numbers are very close”. I don’t forget that.
Leicester are top of the Premier League table after 16 games and hold a two-point advantage over Arsenal.
The Gunners welcome league favourites Manchester City to the Emirates on Monday December 21, a match in which the Gunners’ Boss claimed will not be the title decider.

‘It’s not trust in a negative way. We have shown again recently that we have a fantastic mentality in the team, and these players are something special on the human front’.
