Preorders for the Oculus Rift VR headset will start in Q1 2016
With regard to the pricing of the Rift, Luckey said that VR will eventually become “something everyone can afford” after it first becomes “something everyone wants”.

However, he clarified that the Oculus Rift will be worth it with a follow up message, “Rift will be sold insanely cheap considering complexity – multiple high-end OLED monitors+motion tracking+fancy mechanicals in one device”. It will boast higher specifications and generate superior virtual reality experiences as opposed to rival devices.
The price tags for these headsets haven’t yet been announced, and buyers may also have to factor in the cost of a compatible computer (or, in the case of the Sony headset, a PlayStation 4), since all three of them will need to be physically connected to one of these in order to work.
Oculus Rift will be in the market in the first quarter of 2016. We take a quick look at its fast-moving history, its capabilities, controls, and anticipated price bracket. The Rift has a built in DAC and amp. “Everything is high quality, from the Audio SDK to DAC to amp to the driver modules themselves”, Luckey posted to Reddit.
The Oculus Rift will be the first of its kind virtual reality headset that will be available for purchase by the consumers.
Some rumors are also speculating that Nintendo plans to deliver some VR element in its coming NX platform.
For Rift developers who don’t have access to the hardware at present, Oculus has also opened up a submission tool for them to put themselves forward for consideration. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg bought Oculus VR for $2 billion in March 2014. Even more powerful hardware is on the way in the form of the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive, but it’s the software and experiences that will be the tipping point for the entire category.
Without a doubt, 2016 is going to be a breakout year for virtual reality, but the key will be not burying it before you try it…which at any price above free is always hard. “We’re roughly in that ballpark, but it’s going to cost more than that”, said Luckey told Road to VR.

According to the VRfocus, both Oculus and CCP Games, the developers behind EVE: Valkyrie, have confirmed this announcement. “We’ve now limited the release to developers putting final touches on launch titles”, reads the post.
