Prep Softball: Williams tosses one-hitter at Bonanza in Glide victory
SOUTH CHARLESTON – After seeing its doubleheader Saturday cancelled, the Newton softball team didn’t want to wait to get the season started, adding a game on Monday at Southeastern.

The Wildcats lost Game 1, 5-4, and Game 2, 9-2.
Over this past weekend, the SFU softball team travelled down to Turlock, California to play in the Tournament of Champions, hosted by Stanislaus State.
Kentucky starting pitcher Autumn Humes was also impressive in the circle, allowing just one run on six hits with five strikeouts and a walk.
The loss drops Seguin’s record to 6-14-1 overall and 2-4 in District 26-5A.

Mashburn said that there was so much talent on the team, and she was excited to see how far they could go. “We play with speed in power and it’s good to start the season off 1-0”.
“Coming off of going 7-1 in Florida, many people still doubted us”, Goldstein said. “We will continue to need the bottom of the lineup to come through like they did tonight”.
Even with low expectations from NEWMAC, Leonardos stressed they shouldn’t change the way they play.
“It kind of puts us in the driver’s seat of our future”, Central coach Michelle Efferson said.

TELL CITY-With eight returning starters joined by a talented freshman class, Tell City’s softball team should improve on last year’s 9-16 record. We have shown that we are very talented but we still have a lot of room to grow. Kamehameha Maui will play Lahainaluna at 3:30 p.m., while the Baldwin-King Kekaulike game is slated for 5:30, both at Maehara Stadium.
