Prep volleyball: Sacred Heart takes two
The Saddle Ridge Lady Mustangs varsity volleyball squad took one on the chin Tuesday night with a 25-17, 25-8 home loss to Heritage in North Georgia Athletic Conference play.

Gladstone 3, Palm Springs 1: The Indians nabbed the second game but couldn’t sustain the momentum in losing to Gladstone 25-18, 20-25, 25-18, 25-21.
Hannah Connelly had 18 kills to lead Siouxland Christian while Taylor Campbell had eight aces and 51 assists and Brooke Campbell had four aces, seven kills and seven digs.
Northridge was led by Madie Legg with three kills and three aces, McKenna Kitchen had six kills and two blocks, Olivia Humes had five kills and two aces. Elizabeth Lammers added 10 kills and two solo blocks. Katie Bashline had 12 digs and 26 assists to go along with four aces.
Savannah Ward added five serve receptions, two kills and three aces for Fort Pierce Westwood (2-0), which is 2-0 for the first time since 2012.
Caryssa Meilitz led the Bulldogs with 13 kills, 13 digs and seven aces. Chloe Day added a dig and a kill, while Alexis Fleet and Kayci Brackett had one ace apiece.
Sacred Heart will travel to Weaver on Tuesday for its next match. Abbey Strait racked up four aces against Elkton-Lake Benton and seven assists against Flandreau.
Kayla Huff passed out 32 assists and accounted for 12 points in the victory, while teammate Skylar Fankhauser recorded 10 digs and 13 points.
Lexi Lapke had 15 kills and 16 digs for East (0-1).
TULARE – Redfield-Doland topped Hitchcock-Tulare 3-0 in high school volleyball on Tuesday.
Rylie Gall batted six kills and Autumn Turck four to spur the Pheasants (1-1). Bruce Muklewicz had a goal and Michael Downs tallied an assist for the Huskies. Gall tacked on 10 digs.
Ally Binger and Baylee Enander each pounded four kills to power the Patriots (0-2). Madi Gremore had 14 kills, five aces and 22 digs. Emily Prescott had five kills and four aces.
FREDERICK – Leola-Frederick opened its season by defeating Langford Area 3-2 in high school volleyball on Tuesday.
Union Local made it three wins in as many starts at Bellaire Monday evening, scoring a 25-18, 25-23, 26-24 sweep of the Big Reds.
Emily Cina added seven aces for Master’s Academy (0-3, 0-2 district).

Jenna Larson led Waubay-Summit (2-4) with five aces on 22-of-24 serve attempts. Zoey O’Riley recorded 24 digs.
