With backup Kellen Moore out for the foreseeable future with his own injury, Prescott would be counted on if Romo goes down again.

The Rams were warmly welcomed back to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday by a record 89,140 fans. Dez Bryant caught a 10-yard pass for a touchdown to put Dallas up, 14-0. Prescott’s only incompletions came on drops.

The first football game in Los Angeles in over 20 years didn’t leave an impression with Rams fans as Jared Goff had a rough debut, completing 4-of-9 and throwing one interception.

The Dallas Cowboys take on the Los Angeles Rams in one of the National Football League preseason games on Saturday, August 13 kick off time at 8:00 PM ET, at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, CA. Then there was the abuse Dez Bryant bestowed upon Cody Sensabaugh.

Mannion completed his final seven passes on an 12-play, 80-yard drive, concluding with a seven-yard touchdown pass to Nelson Spruce, cutting Dallas’ lead to 24-21 with 7:07 to play.

Of the touchdown pass, Bryant added: “It’s like practice”.

Dak Prescott, first time out against the Rams No. 1 defense looked rock solid. Saturday night we got to see both men, Goff and Prescott, in action.

Former North Texas linebacker Derek Akunne hit Goff on a blitz, forcing the ball to pop up in the air. On the ground, Todd Gurley accumulated 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns while Tavon Auston had 434 yards and four touchdowns. Aside from the pick, that is a pretty damn good stat line as well. He showed great pocket presence and awareness and was even able to show that he has the jets to keep it and go if need be. Trying to give Prescott as much help as possible, Travis Frederick, Zack Martin, La’el Collins and Doug Free played into the second quarter.

Prescott was allowed more time to carve up the secondary due to the lack of pressure.

Prescott sat out the second half as the Cowboys’ other backup, Jameill Showers, led the offense.

– The Eagles announced rookie QB Carson Wentz suffered a hairline fracture in his ribs in the Eagles’ preseason opener Friday.

More recently, the two teams practiced together during last year’s training camp. His start Saturday could not have been better.

“Prescott”™s start was delayed by receiver Lucky Whitehead”™s electrifying 101-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to open the game. He patiently waited for the hole to develop up the middle and exploded through.

That lasted about as long as the 0-0 tie.

Garrett said Prescott wasn’t ideal, pointed out a messed-up play call and saying the rookie might have made some better decisions.

With five seconds remaining and the Seahawks trailing by seven, undrafted rookie Trevone Boykin uncorked a deep pass to receiver Tanner McEvoy in the end zone. If the season started today, he would be on the roster with Jason Witten, James Hanna and Gavin Escobar.
