President al-Assad: Syria and its friends are bent on fighting terrorism

Syrian President Bashar Assad told a senior Iranian official on Sunday that his adversaries have increased weapon supplies and financial support to insurgents since the start of a major offensive aided by his allies to regain lost territory.
Syria and its friends, the President stressed, are bent on moving ahead with fighting terrorism in all its forms.
Assad added that Syria’s victories have “pushed certain countries hostile to Syria and who pretend to fight terrorism to… increase their financing and arming of terrorist groups”.

The Syrian president said peace in the country could only take place after “eradicating terrorism”.
Velayati and Abdullahian acquainted President al-Assad with the efforts put by Iran to the effect of propping the Syrian people’s choice and Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In turn, Velayati praised the resistance of the Syrian people and promised that Iran would continue to support Syria in this “fateful” confrontation.
A flurry of reports in Iran’s official and semi-official news outlets about the deaths – including funerals and even a eulogy to a fallen general by Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei – have surprised analysts who monitor the country’s tightly controlled media.

Russian Federation has been striking Daesh, al-Nusra Front – another Takfiri group – and other terrorists in Syria since September 30, upon a request from Damascus.
