President and Congress failing to fight Zika in Florida: Gov Rick Scott
The agency is also advising pregnant women and those planning a pregnancy to avoid travel to the area in south Florida and other countries with reported mosquito-born Zika virus.

Now, doctors say 15 cases is not a lot- especially since most people bitten by mosquitoes carrying Zika see very little effects-but doctors say it’s important that you protect yourself when you do travel.
Zika virus is transmitted by vector Aedes aegypti, and through blood transfusions, sexual contact, and from mother to baby.
The newest locations added to the list are two Florida counties where locally transmitted cases started to appear last week.
That travel advisory extends to all pregnant women and those planning on becoming pregnant soon.
A big concern for Florida is the frequency of travel between the state and the USA territory of Puerto Rico, where more than 4,500 cases have been reported, almost all contracted through mosquitoes.
But mosquitoes turn out to be the truly deadly immigrants we have feared for so long: A wall isn’t going to keep them out and they don’t need a passport to head north.
U.S. Senator Mark. R. Warner announced Tuesday that more than $500,000 will aide in the adverse health outcomes that can result from Zika infection, including the serious birth defect microcephaly. Many people who become infected never have symptoms.
“We are doing similar things that we have done in previous years”.

The recommendation follows the announcement of 14 cases of Zika in the Miami neighbourhood of Wynwood, a popular arts and restaurant district. The areas now include a small part of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties in Florida where the first cases transmitted in the US have occurred. Mosquito control is now spraying the area to reduce the mosquito population further and the investigation into the outbreak is ongoing. One type of mosquito that carries the virus isn’t found in Minnesota and a second is only thought to reach the southern third of the state.
