President Barack Obama formally endorses Hillary Clinton after meeting with Bernie Sanders
A Hillary supporter waves small dolls of the Republican and Democratic candidates, Donald Trump, left, and Hillary Clinton during a campaign rally outside Hayward City Hall on Monday, June 6, 2016 the day before the California primary.

“In a meeting today, Vice President Biden and Senator Sanders discussed the importance of what Senator Sanders’ campaign has done to focus the conversation in this country on income inequality, the corrosive influence of big money in our campaigns and the need to reform our politics”.
The self-described democratic socialist also seemed to discredit arguments that staying in the race, which includes the final Democratic primary Tuesday in the District of Columbia, will hurt Clinton’s chances of winning the general election.
Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton addressed each other directly Thursday night with an exchange of zingy one-liners that drew tens of thousands of retweets, a milestone for their social media campaigns and a preview of how the candidates’ will communicate in the coming months.
“I want those of you who’ve been with me from the beginning of this incredible journey to be the first to know that ‘I’m with Her.’ I am fired up and can not wait to get out there and campaign for Hillary”, Mr Obama said in the video. Obama has endorsed Hillary Clinton, presumptive nominee for the Democratic party, to succeed him as president.
Sanders added that Trump would “be a disaster of a president of the United States”.
“Instead of working to continue the progress we’ve made, Republicans, led by Donald Trump, are working to reverse it”, Clinton said. Take our political news quiz to find out what they said about her in the past, when her path to the White House was somewhat less certain.
Warren endorsed Clinton last week, saying she’s a “fighter with guts”.
Responding, the politician said: “For a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful”.
“The Vice President congratulated him on energising so many new voters and bringing them into the Democratic Party”.
“At this point the president believes that Senator Sanders has more than earned the right to make his own decision about the right direction of his campaign”, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters travelling with the president on Air Force One on Wednesday.
“What kind of America do we want to be?”
