Police said the “lewd” messages were sent to the complainant through Facebook Messenger. My first reaction was to ignore and block him.
She will file a police complaint as a common citizen. I will fight as an ordinary woman and do not require any preferential treatment as a daughter of the President of India. “I just want the police to be strict with such people”. “I will fight as a general person”, Sharmistha said.
She lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime unit of Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EoW).
The pervert in question has removed his tag from her post, and from the comments, it seems that people have reported his profile and it now shows as unavailable.. “I made a decision to share the messages because there is a need for public exposure and public humiliation of such people”, Sharmistha said.
Recently, 13 girls from Jadavpur University spoke against sexual harassment after one of them shared her story on Facebook. “Just blocking and reporting is not enough”, the 50-year-old wrote. “Then I thought why should I feel ashamed of sharing such posts because I am not guilty”, she said.

Sharmistha posted the screenshot of her Facebook profile that shows the vulgar messages sent to her in Bengali language by a man named Partha Mandal. I’m also tagging him.
