President Obama admits failure in State of the Union address
US President Barack Obama emphasizes a point while delivering his final State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress in Washington.

Mr. Obama said the ideas GOP candidates are emphasizing – that America is in decline and everything is scary – isn’t the attitude that helped America overcome numerous challenges throughout its history.
“That doesn’t mean that you go around insulting people and thinking that that is clever, or that is being honest, or telling it straight”, he said.
In broad terms, Obama put forward “four big questions” that he thinks the United States has to answer in the future.
The 2012 presidential election was the first election that I was able to participate in and the Obama administration was the first that I was old enough to observe.
“American leadership in the 21st century is not a choice between ignoring the rest of the world – except when we kill terrorists, or occupying and rebuilding whatever society is unraveling”. He will now pass on the torch to the future Democratic nominee to fight for his agenda, Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders.
This State of the Union address signaled that no new initiatives are likely this year on climate, but rather we should look for efforts to secure what he’s already achieved. That can not continue. Lawmakers have an obligation to approve meaningful actions and laws, no matter from which side of the political spectrum they come. “Changes in our political process – in not just who gets elected but how they get elected – that will only happen when the American people demand it. It will depend on you”. He pointed to sharp disagreements over the best way to battle ISIS and the government’s role in regulating the economy.
Now as an adult and a senior in college I realize that it is what makes the nation either breathe easier or harder depending on their views of the sitting president.
“We just need to call them what they are – killers and fanatics who have to be rooted out, hunted down and destroyed”.
“Well, I can imagine it – in a “Saturday Night” skit”, Obama said, referring to the NBC’s long-running late-night comedy show “Saturday Night Live”.
HALEY: During anxious times, it can be tempting to follow the siren call of the angriest voices. “We’ve made progress. But we need to make more”, he said.
