SEATTLE (AP) – President Barack Obama looked toward the 2016 elections Friday evening, stumping for Democratic Sen. KIRO says Air Force one will touch down on Boeing Field about 3:45 p.m., at which point the path to downtown Seattle will be closed as the motorcade travels through town. He’s scheduled to speak at two events at the Westin Hotel: a fundraiser for U.S. Sen. Patty Murray with a fundraiser in Washington state.
The president’s exact schedule has not yet been released, but delays on Seattle’s freeways, transit and local roads are expected. Buses on surface streets in the north part of downtown will be rerouted; check with King County Metro Alert for routes impacted.

Obama later flew to California, where he’ll attend several fundraising events over the weekend. He is expected to depart by 7 p.m. Obama arrived following a stop in Roseburg, Oregon where he visited families of victims of the shooting rampage at a community college there last week. The South Lake Union Streetcar is continuing to operate, and the downtown transit tunnel is open and operating, police said. Vehicle access to the area will be limited to Fifth Avenue between Lenora and Virginia streets and on Stewart Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues.
