President Obama drops a summer playlist, confirming his dope taste in music
President Barack Obama’s summer jams range from a little pop to a little hip hop, and much in between.

Just like a year ago, Obama couldn’t narrow his summer jams down to just one playlist, so he split them up into “Day” and “Night”. Let’s just hope Hillary has been brushing up on her Spotify Discover channel.
As The Washington Post noted, Beyoncé does not appear on either playlist, though her song “Superpower” appeared on 2015’s nighttime one.
President Obama has an ambitious reading list for his annual two-week summer vacation on Martha’s Vineyard, Mass. President Obama was also seen guesting several TV shows like the Jimmy Kimmel Live where he read hilarious mean tweets about him.
In any case, his playlists are a mix of modern and oldies, sticking with lots of R&B, jazz and Fiona Apple (really, Barack?). This includes “LoveHate Thing” by DC’s Wale (which is an excellent song choice), and some Jay Z and Chance the Rapper.
The indie rock ballad is sandwiched between Leon Bridges’ Smooth Sailin’ and Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
President Obama’s newest tradition of releasing his favorite music for the summer for his fellow Americans is lit, and so is his broad taste in music! There are no 2016 hit songs included here. On Aug. 5, the president celebrated his 55th birthday at the White House. Malia and Natasha roll their eyes in embarrassment, but still sing along with their dad when “Classic Man” comes on.

Lily, 8, wrote a letter to the president saying that he should do something fun, like wear a tie-dye shirt and shorts to an important event or visit Walt Disney World with the first family.
