In a slickly produced video endorsement, the president has thrown his support behind Hillary Clinton’s bid to keep the White House in Democratic hands. For protecting Obama’s legacy, addressing Warren’s concerns about income inequality and advancing Sanders’ “revolution”, Clinton is also a far more likely ally than Trump.

Clinton became the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee on Tuesday, after defeating Sanders in six close primary contests, reportedly reaching the party’s 2,383-delegate threshold.

According to the most recent YouGov poll released on May 25, half of Sanders’ supporters would turn away from Clinton in a matchup between the former Secretary of State and presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.

Warren announced her endorsement of Clinton during Maddow’s MSNBC show Thursday, shortly after President Obama had endorsed Clinton and vowed to campaign for her.

“I will work as hard as I can to make sure that Donald Trump does not become president of the United States”, Sanders said Thursday following a meeting with Obama at the White House.

Sanders said, however, that he would stay in the race to compete in the final Democratic primary vote in Washington, DC, on June 14. “Anybody who thinks that whatever the next president- and God willing, in my view, it’ll be Secretary Clinton”.

In particularly, Clinton will hit Trump for suggesting that he “really broke the glass ceiling on behalf of women” because of his hiring practices, the aide said, and attempt to refute Trump’s argument that he “will be better for women, by a big factor, than Hillary Clinton”.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says he’s preparing for a “major” speech on Monday to discuss “all of the things that have taken place with the Clinton”.

The president’s endorsement could also end concerns about party unity after a long and intense battle between Clinton and Sanders.

Sanders thanked Obama, and his vice president Joe Biden, for not putting their hands on the scale during the primary race.
