We thank you in advance.

Wait until after Thanksgiving to be a grinch and, for now at least, fully embrace the attractive American tradition that is the White House turkey pardon.

More than two dozen turkeys have been pardoned since then, though Obama said he genuinely considered eating one of the two birds delivered to the White House in 2009. Obama said: “I thought it was good”. Under the watchful eye of the National Turkey Federation, Abe grew from a tiny chick to a massive bird weighing in at 40 pounds. “That’s our first goal”, Obama said. Honest has a red face and neck, while Abe’s crown features more extensive blue splotches.

Both turkeys hail from California, are 18 weeks old and weigh about 42lb each.

Obama was joined by his two teenage daughters, Sasha, 14, and Malia, 17. “They do this exclusively because it makes me feel good, not because they actually think that this is something I should be doing and, you know, as you get older you appreciate when your kids just indulge you like this, so I’m very grateful”.

A Facebook posting by Elizabeth Lauten, criticizing Sasha and Malia Obama’s demeanor during the 2014 pardoning of the National Thanksgiving Turkey. He also rolled out an array of his signature dad jokes, such as, “Time flies, even if turkeys don’t”. School children named the gobblers “Honest” and “Abe”.

Obama said that, later in the day, he and his family will “take some of the less fortunate turkey brothers with us” to help serve meals to homeless veterans. He wouldn’t be totally offpoint: President Truman received a turkey in 1947 and he ate it, according to the Harry. Public pardons resumed under President Ronald Reagan, while the next White House tenant, George H.W. Bush, established the ceremonies as an annual tradition. President Gerald Ford saw fit to pardon President Richard Nixon, but neither one of them saw fit to officially spare their turkeys.

Obama pointed out that this was his seventh turkey pardoning as president.

The White House release on the turkeys lists their favorite music as country, although they each have a unique “strut style”. While his rival is “Abe” and also likes country, but his strut style is listed as “Macho Man”.
