President Obama’s Meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India
Paris: As world leaders sought a decisive turn in fight against global warming, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday stressed that the “lifestyles of a few” must not crowd out opportunities for developing countries and the burden of reducing carbon emissions should not be shifted to countries like India. 40 per cent of installed power capacity will be from non-fossil fuel sources.

He informed countries that were developed when they change the responsibility of lowering pollutants on developing nations like Asia, watching that bad countries had the right to burn carbon to develop their establishments that it’d be.
The minister assured that India may lead $30 thousand and property to construct the International Solar Alliance’s secretariat structure.
“We hope advanced nations will assume ambitious targets and pursue them sincerely. And, there should be no place for unilateral steps that become economic barriers for others”, Modi said.
He also launched at the India Pavilion a coffee table book, entitled “Parampara”, with Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar and Power, Coal and New and Renewable Energy Minister Piyush Goyal. “And, I salute the world for standing, in full strength, with France and Paris”, Modi said.
“For that we must come together in a partnership to bring clean energy within the reach of all”. A Pakistani official, who was present, said the Indian Prime Minister looked keen on talking with Sharif which may lead to the creation of a better atmosphere for an Indo-Pak dialogue.
“We want to bring solar energy into our lives and homes, by making it cheaper, more reliable and easier to connect to grid”, the Indian leader said.
However, talks between Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his Pakistani counterpart Sartaz Aziz scheduled to be held in New Delhi in August this year were cancelled after the Pakistan high commission in India insisted on inviting Hurriyat leaders for a reception in honour of Aziz.
“India will fulfill expectations from it and its responsibilities… the country is working to take forward development and (protecting) environment together”, Modi said at a joint press event with Obama. “This also means aggressive mitigation action by developed countries before 2020, including ratification of 2 commitment period of Kyoto Protocol, removing conditions and revisiting targets”.
Dubai announced a 27 billion dollar programme on Sunday to make solar panels mandatory for all rooftop buildings by 2030, part of a plan to make the city a global clean energy centre.
The announcement followed pledges by 20 major economies to double their investment in renewable energy research and development.
