President Obama Says ‘Obamacare’ Will Survive Beyond His Presidency

Republicans have pledged to repeal the Affordable Care Act ever since – well, ever since it was enacted in 2010. “We have had no interaction with anyone in leadership in congress, not that they’re calling us on a regular basis to ask our opinion”.

Not all but much of what happens to us when our health breaks down is self-inflicted.

JIM JORDAN: You bet, good to be with you. Pelosi said. “Do they want to go from affordable care to chaos?” “We are acutely aware that in dismantling the ACA we have a responsibility for ensuring that Medicaid continues to provide quality care for our nation’s most vulnerable citizens”.

It is vital that Americans know what Republicans’ plan is to replace the law before repealing it, Sen. That’s what they expect us to do.

SIMON: But a lot of the polls suggest that, for example, Americans like the coverage for preexisting condition. Obamacare allows parents to cover their kids until the age of 26.

So when Republican policymakers talk about “personal responsibility” being critical to heath reform, that’s code for making sure Americans feel some pain every single time they access health services. They didn’t. They went up.

They spoke anxiously about rising premiums, deductibles, copays and drug costs. The website will work. Their un-Jeffersonian haste is part of a cover-up, a con game in which voters are told to give up something concrete in exchange for – well, we’ll tell you later, maybe. The bottom line of the GOP approach is that millions of Americans will lose insurance, and thousands more will die unnecessarily each year because of lack of care.

JORDAN: There is certainly some of that. No one’s denying that. Even so, many countries are able to offer health care without huge barriers, just as Jesus offered healing to the centurion’s servant. Repealing the exchanges without knowing what might replace them will kick the individual health insurance market into a tailspin. Pat Toomey, R-Pennsylvania, are mandates for their policies – particularly repealing Obamacare. Still, “We can look back at previous reconciliation bills to get some sense”.

“It is hard to say with certainty what would happen in this situation as the actual repeal legislation has not yet been fully written”, he said.

President Barack Obama said he believes that his signature healthcare law will survive under a Trump administration, telling ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that he is skeptical Republicans will actually repeal the Affordable Care Act. But at least four GOP senators are sounding cautions that repeal, especially without an immediate replacement, could have financially chaotic effects, not only for those who are covered by the act but by insurers and the medical profession.

But they can’t be the same bill because one requires 51 votes.

The 60 yes votes were Democrat, the 39 opposed were Republican. It’s declaring its repeal and then restoring a significant and adapted increment. The speaker’s plan came out just last summer, although Congress had years to prepare for the day when it would have a chance to get rid of Obamacare. The effective date wouldn’t be today. The Affordable Care Act extended coverage to 3.8 million Californians alone, and would cost the state more than $15 billion a year to maintain without federal support.

Of course, I’m not holding my breath. In Tennessee, 526,000 more people would be uninsured.

Murphy says there appears to be a cruelty to the enthusiasm with which Republicans want to immediately repeal the ACA without a replacement. I got to run.

JORDAN: You bet. Thank you, brother.
