With the 2016 presidential election growing closer, gun show promoters say the number of people who go to them will rise.

The Washington Post and Politico reported late last week that one of Obama’s main proposals would require some unlicensed gun dealers to get licenses and conduct background checks on potential buyers.

“I don’t like changing anything”, Donald Trump said on CBS’ “Face the Nation”. The NRA has been a driving influence on the American political landscape for the past three decades.

This president wants to act as if he’s a king, as if he’s a dictator. The changes would be aimed at some sellers who skirt the background check laws by selling at gun shows or informal settings. At the top of Obamas priority list is executive action that is expected to expand when background checks are required for gun purchases.

While those opposed agree there is a problem, they disagree with the President’s steps to fix it, believing he is overstepping his boundaries with the second amendment.

Obama directed his White House team a few months ago to explore ways he could reduce gun violence and he’s now expected to focus on using executive actions to tighten regulations on small-scale gun sellers, according to published reports.

Obama has simply charged his staff to work around Congress. But executive orders that would cause real reform, like universal background checks (a background check for each gun sale), which 90% of the country – including gun owners – want, still require congressional approval.

He added, “This is going to be another illegal executive action, which I’m sure will be rejected by the courts, and when I become president will be stricken from executive action”. “The NRA’s going to kill me, but I have nothing against background checks because every gun I sell has to have a background check on it”, said Kenneth Smith, Jr.
