President Obama visits Milwaukee to tout health care signups

Barack Obama said on Thursday that his family will stay in Washington for a few years beyond the end of his presidency, until his youngest daughter finishes high school. The president, though, made it sound as if it were a done deal.

President Barack Obama trumpeted the nation’s declining uninsured rate Thursday and said 20 million people have gained insurance as a result of his signature health care law as he commemorated the approaching sixth anniversary of the Affordable Care Act. They talked about the weather and the Midwest.

“We haven’t figured that out yet”, he said when asked by one of his guests whether he would return to Chicago, where he lived before becoming president, or Hawaii, where he was born.

“It always feels good being closer to home”, Obama said.

When asked by one woman whether by “home” Obama was referring to his Hawaiian birthplace, the President replied, “It’s home”.

“We believe the federal government that continues to build up debt and deficient problems regardless of the party is not going to be in a position in the next several years to meet their commitments even before the Affordable Care Act – even more so going forward”, Walker said. “Cause transferring somebody in the middle of high school… tough”. The President and first lady don’t now own any other properties, though rumors have swirled about potential purchases in places like Palm Springs and Oahu.

Perhaps realizing that he was within earshot of his traveling press corps, he then shooed reporters away. “Get out of here”.

According to White House numbers, roughly 38,000 new people enrolled in the Milwaukee area of the 51,000 potentially eligible, or about 75 percent.

He would be the first president to stay in D.C. since Woodrow Wilson left office in 1921, though it doesn’t sound like he wants to stay long after Sasha’s graduation from Sidwell Friends School. “Sasha will have a big say in where we are”.
