He urged people to come and visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan museum to relive history. The inauguration of Phase-II of the Museum completes the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum Complex, which comprises the Stables Museum (Phase -I), the Garages Museum (Phase -II) and the Clock Tower, which will be home to the Visitors Reception Centre, Cafeteria and Souvenir shop.

Mukherjee said that when he entered Rashtrapati Bhavan four years ago, he hardly knew it despite having lived nearby for over four decades.

“Despite the fact that he comes from a different political background, he has implemented most of the programs of our government here in Rashtrapati Bhavan”. “He has given a lot to the President’s Office as well”, said Modi.

Also, the visitors can pose with President Pranab Mukherjee and hitch a ride in the President’s buggy through augmented reality.

“We can learn from President Mukherjee how people from diverse political backgrounds can work shoulder to shoulder”. It’s commendable, Modi said.

President Pranab Mukherjee hailed the efforts of the people who contributed to the making of the museum.

The much-awaited phase II of Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, featuring hi-tech storytelling through virtual reality and multi-screen projection will open for the public from 2 October, reported The Economic Times.

Talking about Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, Modi said it was a combination of history, art, imagination and technology.

Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari said the day when Mukherjee completed four years in the magnificent Rashtrpati Bhavan “was an occasion enough to be celebrated”.

The President said the first decision he took on assuming Presidency was that people must know about the life in Rashtrapati Bhavan. A hop-on-hop-off bus was also flagged off.

“Rashtrapati Bhavan had been a mute witness to the evolution of history in the modern period and of the time when the largest functional democracy of the world started operating”, he said. The museum, spread over 1.3 lakh square feet, was built at a cost of Rs 80 crore.
