Fifty-one percent agreed that Fiorina won the debate, with only 11 percent saying Trump did. Carson is now in a virtual tie with recent front-runner Donald Trump.

Despite a strong performance in the second Republican presidential debate, Gov. Chris Christie remained near the bottom of a poll released Sunday that kept Donald Trump in the lead, with Carly Fiorina moving up to second place. While numerous candidates made jabs at each other throughout the night, when the topic turned to marijuana Paul took the opportunity to call out Bush.
But few of the attendees came away with a clearer picture of who they’d like Republicans to nominate.
All other GOP presidential candidates, Voter Gravity added, got 6 percent overall.
Fiorina ranks second with 15 percent support, a huge surge from early September, when the former Hewlett-Packard chief executive received a paltry 3 percent support.
The NBC poll was an on-line survey conducted with research firm Survey Monkey. Results carry a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.
Fiorina has clearly thought deeply about her one-liners. At the same time, 31 percent said Trump did the worst job, followed by Kentucky Sen. Just as many (53%) believe Fiorina will not go all the way. So Trump mocked the absent Pataki, calling him a “failed governor (who) couldn’t even get elected dogcatcher now”. More than a third of Republicans, 37 percent, said the ability to “bring change” was the most important quality in a nominee.
In terms of favorability, only three Republicans have a higher favorability rating than unfavorable.
Of course, both of them have obstacles to overcome: Trump declared corporate bankruptcy four times, mostly on his Atlantic City hotel and gambling operations; Fiorina saw HP’s value to shareholders plummet during her time as CEO and many of her decisions had analysts conclude she was a failure.
“I liked all the candidates”.
She also spoke to CNN about the shadow that Trump’s remarks about her looks had cast over the campaign.
“There’s a sophomoric quality that’s entertaining about Mr. Trump”, Paul said, noting that Trump’s “visceral response” was to attack people for their appearance, as he had done recently to rival Carly Fiorina.
