Price, Betts and Bogaerts led Red Sox over Astros

Gray allowed a career-worst seven runs for the second straight start, and the A’s surrendered a season-high in runs for the second straight game in a 14-7 defeat to the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox have now won six straight against the A’s and Ramirez is a big reason why. He added two more hits on Tuesday night as the Red Sox offense has taken off. Boston has won its last two and four of its last six.

Bradley Jr. was given another chance last August when he was recalled. Cole Hamels (4-0, 2.68 ERA) will pitch for Texas after throwing seven shutout innings in his last start.

With 196 runs through 34 games, the Red Sox are scoring an average of 5.76 runs a game, which projects to 934 for the season.

The A’s loaded bases against Porcello with two out in the fifth, but Stephen Vogt grounded out on Porcello’s 96th pitch to kill the threat. The A’s have allowed double-digit runs in three straight games for the first time since August 9-11, 2000.

It also marked Bradley’s first career grand slam.

However, Oakland would answer right back in the top of the third inning. He allowed 12 hits, walked none and struck out three.

However, from that point on, it would be all Red Sox. Young, who was signed by Boston primarily to perform well against left-handed pitchers, is now 8-21 against southpaws.

The A’s won’t face the Boston Red Sox again until September.

The 1996 Red Sox had scored just 165 times by Game 34, but finished with 928 runs, which is six runs fewer than this team’s projected total.

The Tigers escaped more damage as Murphy was thrown out in a rundown after his single for the first out of the inning. Pedroia added some insurance runs by blasting a two-run homer into the monster seats in the fourth.

With two on and two outs in the bottom of the third, however, Surkamp was unable to cool Bradley Jr., who crushed a home run into the Boston bullpen for a 3-1 lead. David Ortiz was 3 for 5 with two doubles and two RBIs, and the designated hitter is batting. A two-out Yonder Alonso double down the right field line scored the first run of the game for Oakland in the second, briefly putting them ahead, and Khris David provided more two-out damage in the third when his base hit brought home two more to tie the game.

Oakland, on the other hand, couldn’t get anything going.

He started slow at the plate this season even though he was unchallenged throughout spring training. He was called up Friday and is taking the spot of Henry Owens, who was sent to Triple-A Pawtucket after walking 13 batters in 12 1/3 innings of three starts. Porcello earned his sixth victory of the season.

At the start of 2015, Jackie Bradley Jr. looked like he was one more failed attempt in the majors away from being passed over or traded by the Red Sox. The left-hander hit yet another home run, his sixth of the season and third of the series. “To come up with a couple of home runs here tonight, that’s extending his ability to drive the baseball consistently right now”.

Bradley is now on a hitting streak of 16 games, which is the longest active streak in Major League Baseball. 222 to. 322 over the stretch. His pitching was anchored by a very good strikeout to walk rate that climbed from 2.47K/BB in 2014 to 2.86K/BB previous year.

Aroldis Chapman returned from a 30-game suspension for violating the league’s joint domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy, making his debut in the ninth inning of the New York Yankees’ 6-3 win over the Kansas City Royals.

But the Red Sox’s barrage in the series was a team-wide effort as Boston outscored the A’s 40-15 on 48 hits in the sweep.
