Primary Tuesday: Trump, Clinton lead in 5 states holding primaries
Then came word late Sunday of Cruz’s agreement with Kasich – and Hiel said that sealed her decision.

As far as the timing of the voting in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland is concerned, polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. In Rhode Island, too, polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., except for the state’s least populated municipality of New Shoreham on Block Island, where they open at noon and close at 8 p.m. And in CT, polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
On Monday, Bernie Sanders conceded at a town hall that he faces narrow odds in convincing super delegates to switch their allegiances from the Democratic presidential front-runner.
Such collusion would be illegal in many industries, the Republican presidential front-runner said, but it’s illustrative of “everything that is wrong in Washington and our political system”.
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – Bernie Sanders’ campaign chief is vowing his candidate will stay in the Democratic race until the summer convention, even as Hillary Clinton looks to lock down her commanding position for the party’s nomination with a strong performance in a five-state round of contests Tuesday.
Trump’s path to the nomination remains narrow, requiring him to win 58 per cent of the remaining delegates to reach the magic number by the end of the primaries.
Mr Trump said his two rivals are colluding in a way that would be illegal in many industries.
Ed Kasados, a 78-year-old resident of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, New Mexico, said he’ll likely vote for Kasich, but will ultimately support whoever is the Republican nominee. Their loose alliance marks a stunning shift in particular for Cruz, who has called on Kasich to drop out of the race and has confidently touted the strength of his convention strategy.
The candidate told the crowd in Hagerstown, Md. that Americans probably will not see much of him afterwards.
“I only care about the first”.
Before that, “we were just scribbling names on a piece of paper for them”, Barletta said.
During an appearance Monday in Indiana, Cruz celebrated the “one-on-one” contest with Trump that he has long sought.
U.S. Representative Lou Barletta of Pennsylvania, a Trump surrogate, said the campaign had taken some steps, including printing cards naming its preferred candidates for delegates so that voters going to the polls would know who backs Trump. “That is good for the men and women of Indiana”.
To put it bluntly, Donald Trump knocked out Ted Cruz in New York’s primary election April 19.
Not literally – he would still need to get to 1,237 delegates to win on the first ballot at the Republican convention this summer.
“Lehman Brothers nearly brought down the country-[Kasich] was a managing director”, Trump said.

The remaining delegates – people who are elected by voters from across the state’s 18 districts – are free agents who could support anyone they choose at the party’s convention in July. His campaign was optimistic that he would win in NY, considering his previous string of victories in smaller states.
