Entertainment website TMZ, citing unnamed sources, reported that Prince was treated for an overdose of the opioid-based painkiller Percocet in the week before his death.
Freed said Prince made a brief appearance but that he didn’t have one-on-one time with the musician that night. The singer was last seen alive around 8 p.m. Wednesday night after being dropped off at his Paisley Park compound by a friend.
The Sheriff said that as Prince was a “private person” it was not unusual for him to be there alone, although the fact that no one could rouse him that morning had concerned employees enough to call the Sheriff’s department.
The caller, noticeably shaken, said, “We’re at Prince’s house”.
“The Prince I know was super-healthy, vegan, wasn’t an abuser of drugs, wasn’t an abuser of alcohol”, Reid said.
“I’m the same age as Prince”, said Olson when asked if he was a fan of the superstar, “I like Prince’s music”.
Prince’s reps have not publicly commented on TMZ’s report.
The sheriff warned that full results from the post-mortem could take several weeks, and the incident was still under investigation. He wouldn’t reveal if investigators removed any items from Prince’s home.
“Our detectives are now working on this case”, said Olson, noting that it was only 29 hours since the singer died. Anything which could be relevant to the investigation will be taken into consideration. She says she tried to copy what he did to stay fit.
The medical examiners office has received Prince’s body and will perform an autopsy Friday. “They found him unresponsive and called 911”. Further tests will include “a meticulous exam” of tissue samples and toxicology tests from blood draws. Litman is executive producer for concerts at the theatre.

On social media, old videos and memories of the singer surfaced, such as Bobbi Kristina Brown and Whitney Houston at a Prince concert and Kim Kardashian getting booted off stage for not dancing.
After the Atlanta performance, Prince hosted a dance party on April 16 at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota. The sheriff did not answer questions about possible drugs in his body or home.
Dr. A. Quinn Strobl of the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office began the autopsy about 9 a.m. CDT.
Speaking at a news conference on Friday, Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson provided the update on the day an autopsy was being carried out on the 57-year-old to solve the mystery of his sudden death yesterday.
“This all continues to be under investigation”, he added.
Prince’s former percussionist says the music star had a history of hip injuries, and Prince himself talked of having epilepsy as a child.

The time of death isn’t clear yet but it was not in the minutes before emergency personnel first arrived mid-morning, he added.
