A little over a day after the death of Prince was confirmed, a team from the Carver County Sheriff’s office attempted to answer some lingering questions about the death of the singer.

Prince was last seen at 8pm the night before his death when he was dropped off at the property.

But a spokesperson for the Sheriff said that because the investigation is ongoing, he may not be able to answer all questions.

“That is our standard protocol, and not unusual at all”, he said, adding that paramedics unsuccessfully performed CPR and pronounced Prince dead at 10:07 CDT Thursday.

His body has now been released to his family but a cause of death may not be made public for weeks. Dr. A. Quinn Strobl, chief medical examiner, will be performing the Purple One’s autopsy, which will also include medical and social histories as part of the information. Anything which could be relevant to the investigation will be taken into consideration.

A representative named Martha Weaver from the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office said to The Hollywood Reporter that, “Nothing will be released until everything is complete”. An autopsy is now being performed and the results of that will not be available for days or several weeks.

Prince, who traveled the world and attained worldwide superstardom during his 40-year musical career, had always stayed close to home in Minnesota.

“He has been identified as Prince Rogers Nelson”.

“Because it was unwitnessed death of a middle-age adult, we cleared the scene”, Olson said. “In life, he was a private person, and we’re going to continue to respect his privacy and dignity”.
