They are also attempting to determine if a doctor prescribed any drugs that may have been linked to the death – or if there was a physician on board when the singer made an emergency landing for treatment of a drug overdose as he was flying home from a concert in early April.

There is no indication so far that Prince had a valid prescription for the medicine.

Prince died April 21. “The question is, are you on meds in a unsafe way?”

Authorities have obtained a search warrant for Prince’s Paisley Park estate, but the court has authorized sealing it, ABC News confirmed Thursday.

Although investigators are still waiting for the results of toxicology tests, the development suggests similarities to probes into the deaths of celebrities like Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley.

Carver County Deputy Sheriff Jason Kamerud discounted those reports late Wednesday, saying the DEA “is not part of the investigation at this time”.

Kamerud declined to comment Thursday on the reports of drugs found at Paisley Park, and told AP that he strongly disputed reports by several media outlets that investigators had asked the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for help in the case.

The iconic musician was found dead in his home on April 21.

A coroner has said it could be weeks before the results of a post-mortem can be disclosed. He also said that if help is needed the local investigations is ready to take help, but waiting for the medical report. The unnamed man has contacted Heir Hunters International to help prove his claim that the late singer fathered him in the 1980s, Daily Mail reported. “We don’t have the medical examiner’s report yet”. Prince was scheduled to perform two shows in St. Louis but cancelled them shortly before his death due to health concerns.

A few hours after the emergency landing, Prince returned home to Paisley Park.
