Prince George meets Barack Obama

While the young royal was socializing with the first couple from the states, Prince George’s baby sister Charlotte slept through the entire meeting.

The Obamas, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip enjoyed lunch in a private dining room at the castle.

In the photo, Obama is pictured squatting to George’s height, interacting with the smallest Prince (nice form, Obama!).

Obama passed up the chance to comment on the fierce campaign to succeed him, but said he’d love to see a focus on early childhood education.

“Where do you want me?”

“They said they needed to be within reach of the president at all times”. “Back to the mirror”.

Harry, a military veteran who served in Afghanistan, joined Mrs. Obama for a White House event in 2013. The commander-in-chief, whose record on courting the small-child vote is quite strong, appears to have worked his dad-in-chief charm on His Highness, the (tiny) Prince George of Cambridge. A Kensington rep said, “Prince George stayed up to meet The President and First Lady when they arrived at Kensington Palace”. The palace released photos showing the Obamas and the royals chatting in the drawing room of William’s apartment home, and of Obama kneeling in front of a pajama-clad George. It was a gift from the First Family.

The 2009 meeting is also where the queen and the much-taller Mrs. Obama showed how quickly they took a liking to each other by briefly standing arm in arm at a palace reception for participants at an economic summit in London. They met for the first time at Buckingham Palace in 2011, just after the royal wedding and it was their first joint engagement as a married couple.

The hospitality has been reciprocated in the States.

After their initial meeting and the photo session with Prince George, the royals had a casual meeting with their guests before dinner. She has not visited Obama at the White House. The Harry snuck in a double-kiss when greeting Michelle Obama upon their arrival.

“The nations that make their presence felt on the world stage aren’t the nations that go it alone but the nations that team up to aggregate their power and multiply their influence”, Obama said alongside Cameron at a news conference Friday.
