“From that moment, it wasn’t a question of when but how quickly could we put something in place which could help these children, robbed of the carefree childhood many across the world enjoy”.

Prince Harry explained that his experiences in Lesotho had inspired him to launch Sentebale along with his friend Prince Seeiso, in memory of their late mothers. The Sentebale Mamohato Children’s Centre at Thaba Bosiu just outside Maseu is Sentebale’s first objective built camp for the disadvantaged and HIV positive childen of Lesotho.

Prince Harry spent the night dancing to Joss Stone as she performed at a dinner to celebrate the opening of his new centre for children with HIV in Africa. Mutsu said he and the prince “click”, adding: “I’m very comfortable around Harry, he is very comfortable around me”. The prince met the orphaned boy 11 years ago while he was on a trip to the African country. The schoolboy said: “I felt very happy, very excited”. “I’ll have to wait, we’ll all have to wait a few years for that”.

Harry was given a walking stick and traditional Basotho blanket and began busting a move for the kids. “Is everyone else warm enough?”

The Diana, Princess of Wales Hall will be the room where children at the centre will gather for meals three times a day and take part in activities.

Mutsu Potsane was just four when he first met the prince on the royal’s first trip to Lesotho.

“I think of the time were together, it was the good and nice day”, he says. The prince and Mutsu struck up a special friendship during that first meeting at the Mants’ase Children’s Home in Mohale’s Hoek.

“If there’s a chance of seeing each other they would love to, but it’s unlikely”. A place like this, full of children playing, it reflects these playful personalities. Harry held brief informal talks with King Letsie III at his palace in Maseru, the capital of the southern African nation.

Seeiso suggested Harry’s commitment to the disadvantaged children of Lesotho was a legacy of the princess instilling in her sons the need to empathise with others less fortunate – as his mother Queen Mamohato had done.
