Prince Reportedly Overdosed on Percocet Days Before Death

Six days before his death, Prince’s private jet had an emergency landing while on tour. His reps said it was because Prince was battling the flu, but TMZ isn’t buying it, especially because his plane was 48 minutes away from its intended destination when it suddenly landed.

“We had an emergency landing for an unresponsive person”, Jeff Patterson, the public safety manager at the Quad-City airport in Moline, Illinois, told People magazine.

He was 57 years old.

And, although it could be weeks before his cause of death is revealed, the Examiner’s Officer has stated there is “no reason to believe” that Prince had committed suicide. The unidentified male who made the call told dispatcher Emily Colestock that Prince had died.

The Carver County Sheriff’s Office told TMZ it was investigating the death, but it’s too early to say if there was any foul play involved.

Celebrity website TMZ.com, citing “multiple” unnamed sources, has reported that Prince received treatment for a painkiller overdose while traveling home from concerts in Atlanta last week. He was allegedly advised by doctors to stay in their care for 24 hours, but his crew wanted a private room for the singer, and the hospital did not meet their demands.

EC: You’re at Paisley Park, OK, that’s in Chanhassen. Prince’s music sold more than 100M copies.

It is expected that official results of the circumstances surrounding the death of Prince, or Prince Rogers Nelson in real life, would be out soon following the scheduled autopsy on Friday, CNN disclosed.
