Prince, who had been hospitalized and released last week, was found dead in his Minnesota home, dubbed “Paisley Park”, at the age of 57 Thursday morning.

Emergency personnel were called to Paisley Park Studios to the report of a “male down not breathing” at around 9:30 a.m. local time, the Star Tribune reported.

Police found no signs of suicide or obvious trauma in the death of USA music superstar Prince, but it could take weeks before autopsy results reveal how the groundbreaking performer died, authorities said on Friday. Gathering the results to determine a cause of death will take “several days” and the results of a full toxicology scan could “likely take weeks”, according to Dr. A. Quinn Strobl, chief medical examiner.

There also is no reason to believe that the death was a suicide, Olson said.

The singer had been alone at the estate and staff members had been unable to reach him.

Just before 10 a.m., Prince’s people became anxious after not hearing from him since about 8 p.m. Wednesday.

He was briefly in hospital last Friday with what a representative told celebrity news outlet TMZ was the flu after his plane had made an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois.

He said USA ambassador Matthew Barzun had a copy of Prince’s record at his official residence in London. The singer’s body was then released to his family.

“Prince is a very private person and I don’t think that would be unusual for him to be (at Paisley Park) by himself”, he said.

Tributes have continued to pour in for the singer, with Eric Clapton crediting Prince with helping him escape a “massive downward spiral with drink and drugs” after he saw Purple Rain.

Olson told reporters that he and other officers carry Narcan, which counteracts the effects of an opiate overdose, but he said it was not used on Thursday. His body showed no signs of violent trauma. He rescheduled the show and opened the April 14 performance in Atlanta by apologizing to the crowd shortly after coming on stage.

Writing on Facebook, the actor said: “Jada & I mourn with all of you the loss of a lovely poet, a true inspiration, and one of the most magnificent artists to ever grace this earth”.

Lars Larson, a 37-year-old Minneapolis man who worked security for Prince and at Paisley Park events for about six years, said he attended the same party.
