Prince has been cremated with a small, private service for family, friends and musicians, his publicist has confirmed.

Meacham said his remains have been cremated and their final resting place will remain private.

The publicist’s statement said the cause of death remains unknown. She said a musical celebration will be held at a future date.

The statement didn’t say where it was held, but his friends were spotted entering Prince’s suburban Minneapolis estate, Paisely Park.

The intimate service was attended by close friends and family members, including Prince’s sister, Tyka Nelson, band member Hannah Welton, Damaris Lewis, former partner Sheila E and ex-wife Mayte Garcia, who revealed that she was “beyond deeply saddened and devastated” when she heard of his passing.

Emergency crews who answered the 911 call could not revive Prince, the sheriff said. “It was just his style”.

Maurice Phillips, who is married to the late singer’s sister Tyka Nelson, made the revelation as the star’s family gathered at his home for a memorial following his private cremation.

Prince’s death followed a series of canceled shows and a reported emergency plane landing for medical treatment. “I know he had just got over the flu supposedly”.

Participants in the ceremony handed some fans outside gift boxes that contained items such as Prince-themed apparel and a compact disc of music.

“He worked 154 hours straight”, Phillips said.

Hours after what turned out to be his final concert, Prince was returning home from Atlanta on his private plane when the pilot made an emergency landing in IL at the Quad City International Airport early on April 15. An autopsy was conducted, but the cause of death has yet to be announced.

Mementos left by fans are attached to the fence which surrounds Paisley Park, the home and studio of Prince, on April 23, 2016 in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death after authorities said they had “no reason to believe” Prince committed suicide.

“Prince’s music has never really appeared in commercials”.

Prince, the legendary and innovative singer, musician, songwriter, multiple instrumentalist and actor, was regarded as the pioneer of the Minneapolis sound and sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time.
