Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ returns to theaters for limited run

Street parties took place both in Minneapolis and Brooklyn, where filmmaker Spike Lee led the celebration, while thousands of fans have flocked to Paisley Park, his home and recording studio outside Minneapolis – where even the weather played its part, thanks to an impromptu rainbow.
