Prince treated for drug overdose days before death

Multiple sources in Moline tell us, Prince was rushed to a hospital and doctors gave him a “safe shot” typically administered to counteract the effects of an opiate. Prince and his entourage reportedly disregarded the advice of doctors and left the hospital just hours after arriving, heading for the singer’s Minnesota home.

Several fans in attendance at Prince’s last shows told US Weekly there wasn’t any evidence of the singer being sick.

An autopsy was initiated today, but it could take days or weeks before a cause of death is determined, warned authorities.

A post-mortem examination took place on Friday, where information about Prince’s “medical and social history” was gathered, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office said.

The 57-year-old singer was found unresponsive in an elevator at his Paisley Park recording studio this morning, and his death has left relatives “blindsided”.

Paramedics tried to perform CPR but were unable to revive him, the sheriff said.

Prince cancelled two Atlanta performances last week, NBC News reported. In the week leading up to his death, Prince went to Walgreens near his home in Minnesota four times.

A rep for Prince released a short statement confirmed his client’s death earlier, but has not commented on the drug overdose rumors. Now police are attempting to sit down each and every person aboard that flight to get to the bottom of the incident, according to a source who spoke to the Mirror.

To make matters worse, observers at the hospital say Prince was “not doing well” upon his departure. CNN, NBC, CBS and BBC have not said anything about the death of Prince being drug-related.
