Prince treated for opiate overdose 6 days before death, per TMZ

The 57-year-old singer was found unresponsive in an elevator at his Paisley Park recording studio this morning, and his death has left relatives “blindsided”.

The near overdose is being blamed for Prince’s private plane making an emergency landing at the Quad City International Airport in Moline, Ill. last Friday. He was allegedly advised by doctors to stay in their care for 24 hours, but his crew wanted a private room for the singer, and the hospital did not meet their demands.

Prince’s publicist is yet to respond to these claims.

Following his death in Minnesota on Thursday, authorities are attempting to access the hospital records from Prince’s time in Moline, in order to better determine his cause of death. First responders tried CPR, but were unable to revive the pop star and he was pronounced dead at 10:07 a.m.

Prince’s shocking passing has left millions with the question of “what happened” to the iconic singer that led to his untimely death.

The show had already been rescheduled a week later after the singer had been suffering from what his people said was flu.

Official sources have not yet confirmed the cause of death. Prince flew home, reportedly not looking good.

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office said it did not plan to release any information until autopsy results were completed.

We’ve obtained the transcript of the 911 call which police say was made by an unidentified male who immediately said, “Um, we’re at Prince’s house”. Prince was apparently taking the pills to help with a hip problem.

But according to a report from TMZ, Prince received a “save shot” at the hospital, medication used to treat opiate overdoses.
