Prince William and wife Kate begin royal tour of India

The royal couple sought to know from the students whether they gave priority to physical exercise while focusing on studies and what hobbies they pursued.

The Duke and Duchess placed a wreath of white lilies between 32 burning candles with the message, “In memory of those who lost their lives and those injured in the senseless atrocities at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel”.

The luxury hotel was the scene of one of a series of attacks in the city by militants in 2008, during which at least 167 people were killed, including many foreigners.

The royal couple, who are staying at The Taj Mahal Palace hotel while they are here, will be served a mix of non-vegetarian and vegetarian authentic Indian delicacies.

Mr Deora said: “The Duke asked me what happened to me and I explained how I was shot. Yes, someone from my team had mentioned that they had asked for our lookbook, but I never took it too seriously”, says Dongre.

Mr Deora also cooked the couple’s lunch, which included a starter of vegetable kebabs and main courses including lentil curry with rice, ricotta cheese and okra.

In the non-vegetarian menu, they can relish ajwaini macchli (fish chunks marinated with hung yoghurt and bishops weed, charbroiled in tandoor), kundan kalia (boneless lamb cooked with spices and topped with gold varq) and shahi murg ka soyota (chicken morsels cooked in a rich saffron, cashew and corn-based gravy). We’re quite excited about the grand and lavish reception cum dinner that has been organized for the couple where they’ll be seen with Bollywood celebrities and some renowned dignitaries.

It’s the first time Middleton is wearing an Indian designer to her maiden visit to the country, have twice worn Indian-origin designer Saloni Lodha back home in London.
