The couple – who left their two children Prince George and Princess Charlotte at home for the day – attended classes with young people addressing the issues they are now facing, such as starting a new school.

THE DUKE of Cambridge came to the rescue after Lord Lieutenant Jonathan Douglas-Hughes took a tumble in front of his eyes as he and his wife enjoyed an official visit.
“As the couple [William and Kate] arrived Vice Lord Lieutenant of Essex Jonathan Douglas Hughes who was greeting them fell backwards with a dramatic thud”, Rebecca English of the Daily Mail tweeted from the engagement.
The crowd of well-wishers gasped as he fell to the ground, dressed in military uniform and carrying a sword.
After the prince, a part-time pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance, helped him back to his feet Mr Douglas-Hughes said “sorry about that”.
The Duke and Duchess are touring Stewards Academy in Harlow, Essex, one of the schools supported by children’s mental health charity Place2Be, a part of the Heads Together initiative.
As the Queen’s representative of the county, Mr Douglas-Hughes was looking after William and Kate, who had just arrived for a visit to the Stewards Academy in Harlow. The Duke will also make a short speech.
They will join a lesson on “big change” run by students involved with the school’s mentor scheme.
William is also due to make a speech before the couple meet with parents in the afternoon.

Later Prince William and Kate will be introduced to a small number of parents to discuss how adults and carers can encourage pupils to talk about major changes in their lives.
