The Princeton Review announced this week that Knox is selected for the 2016 edition of the annual college guidebook, The Best 380 Colleges. The Princeton Review asks students to rate their own schools on several issues, from the accessibility of their professors to the quality of the campus food and to answer questions about themselves, their fellow students and their campus lives.
At Knox, “admission standards are high, and prospective students are viewed both qualitatively and quantitatively”, writes staff of The Princeton Review in its detail section on the College. Comments from surveyed students are quoted in the school profiles on The Princeton Review site. Students commented that WIU’s athletic and recreational facilities are “excellent” and also noted that Western has a “homelike atmosphere”, “fun events” and “plenty of organizations”.
One of the students surveyed said professors are extremely accessible and “care about their students on a personal level”.
Also this week, Marietta College was recognized by Forbes.com as one of America’s Top Colleges.

The 159 colleges included in the “Best in the Midwest” list are located in 12 states: Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Headquartered in Natick, Massachusetts, the company publishes more than 150 print and digital books and delivers courses through a network of more than 4,000 teachers and tutors. Collectively, the 649 colleges named “regional bests” constitute about 25 percent of the nation’s 2,500 four-year colleges. Accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission, Vanguard offers more than 30 degrees and certificates through its undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies programs. “Their accomplishments speak volumes about the quality of the educational experience they received here”.
