Principal Loses Her Job After Appearing In Twerk-Heavy Trey Songz Video
A brief appearance in a rap music video nearly cost a school principal in New York, her job.

Adler-O’Keefe was sacked for her involvement in rapper J.R. and singer Trey Songz‘s unsurprisingly raunchy music video called, “Best Friend”. In fact, in the music video’s “story”, she plays a naïve woman who’s upscale house is turned into a debauched party pad while she’s on vacation.
Adler-O’Keefe had worked in the school district for five years, responsible for high school discipline. Scott Farina wrote in an email to parents, according to Newsday.
Numerous F-bombs are dropped in the song, which feature the lyrics: “Both these girls are freaks, but they nastier together”. The former assistant principal appears only in the first and last 20 seconds of the video.
The same article contained comments from Farina like, “This is not representative of who we are as a district, nor of our students and staff” and “we actively teach our students the importance of good character and making smart choices”.
While Adler-O’Keefe’s participation was limited, it is easy to see why the school district would disapprove of an educator taking part in the video, although he did probably buy a few brownie points from a few of her students.
“Speaking as a private individual and not in my professional capacity, I wish to state for the record that, when I agreed to participate, I was completely unaware of the content, lyrics, and title of the video and song”, she said in an e-mail to the Press.
It’s pretty shocking news considering the nature of Adler-O’Keefe’s performance. “Had I known of such content or lyrics, I certainly would not have participated in any fashion”.

The whole thing seems a little weird since it’s not like O’Keefe herself was dancing around in her bathing suit or doing any drugs, but the district feels very strongly about their decision. This scenario isn’t too different from her real-life.
