Pro Bowl final score: Team Irvin 49, Team Rice 27

Last year Team Irving beat Team Carter 32-28 in a game both closer and lower scoring than most games in the old format. He also selected the first running back, Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson, with his seventh-round pick. Starting Team Irvin quarterback Russell Wilson will feel like a whole new man after taking 44 sacks this season (tied for third-most in the league). Gurley only had three carries for 18 yards, but was able to make it happen in the receiving game with two catches for 18 yards. Hopkins got Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters to bite on a double move and Wilson had plenty of time to throw as the defensive linemen went at half-speed.

Winston later hooked up with Houston Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins for his second touchdown pass of his Pro Bowl debut.

“When you’re going through your season, never think down on yourself because anything is possible, “Winston said in looking back at his inaugural pro campaign while in Hawaii preparing for the Pro Bowl”.

Bucs rookie quarterback Jameis Winston threw two of Team Irvin’s seven touchdown passes and was 6-of-12 for 113 yards. The score was set up by a Jurrell Casey interception after the Titans defensive end snared a deflected Carr pass.

Down 14 at the half, Team Rice took the opening kickoff of the third quarter and drove for a touchdown, with Tampa Bay’s Doug Martin running it in from 3 yards out for the score.

The extra week after the Championship games are over is pretty much a drag for football fans, but the Pro Bowl is a good way to tide them over. His first was a 2-yard pass to Philadelphia running back Darren Sproles late in the second quarter.

As for Team Irvin’s leader in Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin, he is now 2-0 as a Pro Bowl team captain and coach.

Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce caught two scoring passes for Team Rice. Smith finished with three total tackles and helped break up what would have been a long touchdown from Derek Carr to T.Y. Hilton.

Seattle Seahawks star quarterback Russell Wilson was happy to finally picked first in 2016 NFL Pro Bowl.
