Pro-gun activist accidentally shot by son, 4
Deputies say a.45-caliber handgun was on the truck’s floor. After entering the driver’s seat, it penetrated Gilt’s back and then the bullet continued and exited through her stomach.

Gilt was taken to hospital after “frantically” flagging down a passing sheriff and is said to be in a stable condition.
She also posted a video of a six-year-old disabled boy being shown how to use a semi-automatic weapon by what appeared to be American military personnel, with the comment “awesome” .
It is a misdemeanor in Florida to keep or misplace a firearm where a child can have easy access.
“Those questions centre around how is the firearm secured?”
The boy, who was not injured, is with relatives.
‘The Florida Department of Children and Family Services are being notified and the investigation into how the child came to be in possession of the handgun is ongoing’.
Before she went into the emergency room, the statement notes, Gilt told police she’d been shot by her son.
“There was a booster seat in the back of the vehicle, but, however, the boy was not strapped in when the deputy got to them”, Sheriff’s Capt. Joseph Wells told the Times-Union.
The shooting incident occurred on Tuesday.
‘The deputy ran to the vehicle and quickly determined that the driver had been shot’. He rendered aid until paramedics arrived. “The victim was transported to University of Florida Health in Gainesville and was last reported to be in stable condition.
AN OUTSPOKEN gun rights activist has been shot and wounded by her four-year-son – hours after she posted a message on social media saying how “jacked up” he was to shoot a weapon. She has also posted a number of comments about how it is better to confront a burglar with a gun than to call the police. The boy accidentally turned her into his target while sitting in the back seat of her pick-up truck.

Before it was removed from public view, the “Jamie Gilt for Gun Sense” Facebook page featured many posts from other pages supporting gun ownership and vilifying proposals for more gun control.
